    Training That Matters

What Does I-CAR Gold Class Mean?

I-CAR Gold Class is a collision repair industry recognition centered on ongoing, role-specific training. Gold Class shops are required to maintain trained representatives across key collision repair roles and continue developing their knowledge as vehicle technology and repair procedures evolve.

For customers, that means choosing a shop committed to keeping its team educated in the skills modern collision repair demands.

I-CAR currently requires Gold Class collision repair facilities to maintain trained role representatives in four major areas: estimator, refinish, structural, and non-structural repair. Required representatives must reach at least ProLevel® 2, with continued training required to maintain recognition.

    Trained Repair Planning

Estimators and repair planners are trained to recognize vehicle systems, repair requirements, and procedures that can affect an accurate collision repair plan.

    Structural Repair Knowledge

Structural technicians receive specialized training in modern materials, welding, repair techniques, and vehicle structures.

    Non-Structural Repair Expertise

Technicians develop skills for repairing exterior panels, components, attachments, and collision damage without overlooking surrounding systems.

    Professional Refinishing

Refinish technicians receive training related to coatings, paint processes, refinishing procedures, and how modern vehicle technology can affect paint repair.

    Modern Vehicles. Modern Knowledge.

    Collision Repair Keeps Changing

Today's vehicles can include high-strength steels, aluminum, electric drivetrains, cameras, radar, sensors, advanced driver-assistance systems, complex electronics, and manufacturer-specific repair requirements.

Repair technology evolves quickly, which is why training cannot stop once a technician learns the basics.

Jewell Collision's Gold Class recognition supports an ongoing learning culture designed to keep our team prepared for increasingly sophisticated vehicle repairs.

At Jewell Collision, that training supports our broader manufacturer-certified repair capabilities and helps our technicians understand the increasingly complex systems found in today's vehicles.
